“Willow is a 13/14-year-old retired breeding chinchilla. I was originally looking for a male chinchilla to keep her brother, Morty, company, but couldn’t pass her up once I saw her listing. It was pretty clear her former owner was selling her for cheap because she was older, and she was used to breed for most of her life. I was nervous adopting an older chinchilla, but was determined to give her the life of a happy, loved, and totally spoiled pet. Nearly 3 years later, I couldn’t be happier that she’s mine. Her chutzpah is on par with her little brother’s, and, if she doesn’t know she’s an old lady baby, I’m not telling her. She loves running on her wheel, destroying chew toys in one sitting, and taking long leisurely dust baths. Willow is a wonderful chin and I hope she’s part of the family for many years to come.”
